What You Need to Know About Holiness
In the midst of media impressions both audio and video that show violence and the things of a sexual nature, Christians are required to be different and take a stand to defend holiness. Here's what you need to know about maintaining holiness:
Responsibility for All Christians
"You shall be holy to Me, for I am the Lord, holy and I have separated you from the nations, so that you became mine" (Leviticus 20:26). Keeping holiness is not just the responsibility of a priest or a servant of the Lord but the responsibility of all Christians without exception.
Doing the Word of God
"With what a young person maintain clean behavior? By living according to your word" (Psalm 119:9). Through these verses the psalmist gives basic key to maintaining holiness, ie not only hear the words but also to do it in life.
"But Joseph left his clothes in her hand and ran out" (Genesis 39:12). Like Joseph who fled from Potiphar's wife temptation, we must run from temptation. We must take a stand to boldly reject all contrary to the Word of God.
Keeping holiness is not easy, but God will give us the ability to do so. God wants us to emerge as a light in an increasingly dark world.
